Lightning Songtext

Lightning Songtext
See the lightning strike across the house
And all the fallow fields
Of hearts that never yield the right of way
See the lightning strike across my eyes
Awake to what they see
A flash, a family
Lost upon the sea in a storm
Now we hear the crickets call
And hold the silence still
While the distance brings a chill to our bones, to our bones
See the lightning strike and then the fire
We stand and watch it burn
It′s the only way we learn these days
See the lightning strike across the fence
That we didn't mean to build
But it slowly rose until it stood in the way
And we feel so lonely
Could we be the only
Human souls with a love so afraid, so afraid
Oh we long to travel back to
The crooked paths we hardly knew
At the time when we were walking through in love, in love
See the lightning strike and take your breath
And everything is clear
The thunder brings you fear but you stay
See the lightning strike and you′re a child
And you're running just to see
The world alive and free
See the lightning strike across the house
And all the fallow fields
Of hearts that never yield the right of way
See the lightning strike across my eyes
Awake to what they see
A flash, a family
Lost upon the sea in a storm
Now we hear the crickets call
And hold the silence still
While the distance brings a chill to our bones, to our bones
See the lightning strike and then the fire
We stand and watch it burn
It′s the only way we learn these days
See the lightning strike across the fence
That we didn't mean to build
But it slowly rose until it stood in the way
And we feel so lonely
Could we be the only
Human souls with a love so afraid, so afraid
Oh we long to travel back to
The crooked paths we hardly knew
At the time when we were walking through in love, in love
See the lightning strike and take your breath
And everything is clear
The thunder brings you fear but you stay
See the lightning strike and you′re a child
And you're running just to see
The world alive and free
See the lightning strike across the house
