It's Different (When It's Your Own) Songtext

I was standing on the corner when I saw a guy looking back at me
There was a woman right beside him
And a kid that was about two or three
He had an air of disappointment and a look of misery on his face
Like his whole life at that moment was a series of colossal mistakes

I said I never thought it′d happen
But it seems I've got a kid on the way
He flashed a look at me that I would say
Was nothing short of complete dismay
He gripped my arm so tight I thought he′d sunk
His fingers deep inside of my bones
And then he told me something that I couldn't shake off
Even all the way home

He said that everybody's lying when they say
"It′s different when it′s your own"
He said that everybody's lying when they say
"It′s different when it's your own"

I was standing on the corner when I saw a guy looking back at me
There was a woman right beside him
And a kid that was about two or three
He had an air of disappointment and a look of misery on his face
Like his whole life at that moment was a series of colossal mistakes

He said that everybody′s lying when they say
"It's different when it′s your own"
He said that everybody's lying when they say
"It's different when it′s your own"
