Plates Songtext
I saw it buried and I saw it break
Ancient Egyptians between some lines on some plates
There must be some meaning
I read the pattern and I guessed the dates
Olympic games rendered on china and on slate
Pictures of mankind
When I sat down to play the piano
I felt an historical presence
A hand and it moved me
Geometry
Sleep well
Hazard a guess Sans Saint Louise
Digging for bones
Oh how the dust made me sneeze
I can′t imagine life without it
I took musical theory at seventy eight
The slippery keys were as smooth as a plate
And the sound, I made it live
I made it live again
Geometry
The space between now and then
Good night
Ancient Egyptians between some lines on some plates
There must be some meaning
I read the pattern and I guessed the dates
Olympic games rendered on china and on slate
Pictures of mankind
When I sat down to play the piano
I felt an historical presence
A hand and it moved me
Geometry
Sleep well
Hazard a guess Sans Saint Louise
Digging for bones
Oh how the dust made me sneeze
I can′t imagine life without it
I took musical theory at seventy eight
The slippery keys were as smooth as a plate
And the sound, I made it live
I made it live again
Geometry
The space between now and then
Good night
