I once met an animal,
I′d never learned about before.
His teeth were sharp his heart was small.
I taught him everything I know.

We grew together throwing stones,
At what it is we wanted most,
And it's a lie to say I didn′t know,
That animals had claws.

But we do the things we do so we can be.
The animal in us can't hold it in no more,
And the heart it wins over everything.
The animal in us what can you blame us for.

I don't know what he wants from me,
I thought he′d taken everything,
The day he walked across that bridge,
And set the damn thing aflame.

I hear his howl inside my head,
I′m trying to keep it quited.
But it crawls back in my veins to spread,
Just the way he came.
