Late in the day came the news
A child unborn
A tiny life like smoke in the wind
Gone forever

She did her best to hide the pain and suffering inside
Little by little it consumed
′Till darkness was all that was


Cocooned
Changed on the inside
This rot
Hidden from view in the carapace

Time passed like falling leaves
Decaying slowly with the earth

All that grows here now
Despair

With resolve she tied up all the ends of a barren life
And drove out into the cold

From the wreckage the body was pulled
She watched as they towed it away
And there she still sits
Waiting for the happiness to start
