Forest Chorus Songtext

I stood in a forest, just branches no leaves
The oaks were so close, it made the sky still hard to see
And I saw some footprints in the sand in front of me
So I took my shoes off to see if the dents would match my feet.

But not a grain was changed from my toes

So, I follow each marking through a present history
I was myself, I was a hunter on the prowl
I was the first to see the current of sound
And I stepped each step in sequence with right then left again
A melody of walking sang to a train that sat waitin

For me. A man leaned from the front and back end.
Yelled, "Boy, we can′t wait another second!"

We've been waitin years for you to find those tracks.
They were made by a man who died but decided to come back.
There′s no time to explain. Just listen to the ticket in your hand.

I stepped through steam and stared into my place.
A cider girl with long blonde hair and a man with a crooked face
They grabbed my wrist and held me
down. I asked, "What is this all about?"

They said, "Once you sit, you're in until the end.
A part of somethin bigger than you'll ever understand.
So, wait, wait, wait, and you′ll get a glimpse of what we mean."

When I looked out the window,
everything had changed, and all the trees had joined hands singin.
Right below my feet, there were dogs instead of wheels
Their paws touchin steel, runnin outward on the rails.
And they never got tired, never got tired
Pushed by the thought of a perfect light

And the stars started multiplyin,
fillin up the sky with a white so bright it beat the night
And I lost my life right inside surrounded by 35 passengers
In a railcar made my the Ames Brothers a century ago
And designed for this moment

And the Forest Chorus sent a song our way
