Cathy says I leave her incomplete
My heart′s too young, too indiscreet
She feels much better now we're through
I guess she′s found somebody new

She says I make her insecure
She gives so much, but I want more
It was never her intention
She didn't mean to cause me pain
I'll never feel this way again

Cathy says it′s just my vanity
That when I′m older I will see
Maybe one day I'll understand
That she was never underhand


She says it′s pure dishonesty
To pretend to be what she can't be
She′s not the sentimental kind
She sees things that I don't see
And she can′t fake it anymore...

She feels much better now we're through
I guess she's found somebody new

Cathy says that she just can′t compete
With all my lies and self-deceit
Did I think it′d last forever?
That's such a fantasy
Heaven knows I′m on my knees

She says it′s just futility
To deny what always had to be
