You′ve probably heard about my sword
On evening news report
They found another body on the porch
And the clippings that were kept
Under bedstead where I slept
Had just been brought to light under copper's torch
They know that he′s a loner
They know that from the crime
They're not looking for Mr Popular
Just someone to do the time

And there's a body that′s gone missing
And a helicopter high
They′ve combed half the land and half the sky
When they're looking for who to blame
They usually like to take good aim
At the nearest lonely person passing by


There′s been a body found in lake
That for all the family's sake
The general public′s hoping will be mine
Now they're holding midnight mass
With all the dignity and class
Generally reserved for truffles and wine

When they′re looking for a killer
His profile always fits
The man whose only crime was to love
His mum to bits
