The Young and Cheap Songtext

The Young and Cheap Songtext

The Young and Cheap are back
They′ve been playing up and down the track
Yet so far not a decent show, or a living of means
Since they left their hometown New Orleans

The first gig they swinged, they played a two-hour show and broke a couple of strings
The owner's left hand praised them, while his other hand jeered at their guts to ask for a beer

Yeah, you can tell everybody with a good set of ears
That some new boys are hitting the town
But if you lack the conviction to pay them fair and square
Then the young and cheap, they won′t be around next year

There's money all around, for the agent with his wife on the couch
And the sound guy, the light guy, the fat-ass, the wise guy, it's just the Young and Cheap who play for free

Yeah, you can tell everybody with a good set of ears
That some new boys are hitting the town
But if you lack the conviction to pay them fair and square
Then the young and cheap, they won′t be around

Yeah, you can tell everybody with a good set of ears
That some new boys are hitting the town
But if you lack the conviction to pay them fair and square
Then the young and cheap, they won′t be around next year
