Distrust Songtext

Distrust Songtext
Steps within the chamber
Feeble and unwilling
Stalking own digression
In patterns of self-pity
From passion bloomed expression
To expression moved impression
Lest the chisel fails my power
I fear to toil any longer
Ominous rain
Distrust, the seer of decay
Becoming more familiar
With the basest of all dreads
Were these works that constitute me
All mere ghosts of past events
Still greeting, bidding farewell
They never came and never went
What I retain is but a notion
A modest wish to see it end
Dormant lake
My will, a still life display
The traitor creeps to hinder
The road to wheat and water
The stronger the ambition
The solider his mortar
Yet what choices are there
Than to make the long journey
Down to the mocking crux
Of ever waning, falling earnings
Frozen wave
Indifference, my opiate
How did I lose my posture
When was I shed to be
A solitary beggar left in the gutter
Under broken bridges raised by him
In this weary hour of the night
A confession muting the lie
It is gripping with the mistral might:
I make death from gilding life
Roaring rivers
My pain, a furious killer
All mere ghosts of past events
Still greeting, bidding farewell
They never came and never went
What I retain is but a notion
A modest wish to see it end
Dormant lake
My will, a still life display
The traitor creeps to hinder
The road to wheat and water
The stronger the ambition
The solider his mortar
Yet what choices are there
Than to make the long journey
Down to the mocking crux
The mocking crux
