You should have known better

There′ll be deserts of could haves
I've seen them, I′ve been there
Should you find yourself running
Just make sure you run straight high
But remember it's a hard fall
Down from the desert skies

Future and past, can′t hold no whether
It's all black or white, it′s all bad or better

And I know you will judge
I know you'll "high ground"
I won't say you ain′t got the right
But remember I tried
Tried to make it better

So dare and try
I hope you thrive
Cause some of us fly
And some just move air

There′ll be eyes full of envy
Trying to burn every boat you sail
They'll be righteous and godlike
Just see them and beware
There′ll be stardust and shimmer
And words full of golden lies
But remember it's all just
A shine in the desert skies


Life is nothing but trial
To see what you make of it
Faith will throw you around

So make up your choices and stick with your faith

A speck in the desert, a moment in time
A blink of an eye
A breath in the wind, just a drop of the flood
A star in the night sky
