watching the stars a million miles high
throwing their shapes in the sky
and they sing the sweeter songs
that i love to sing along to
but i know where i belong
down here on earth
halfway up my own guitar
propping up another bar
trying not to stray too far from where i′m going to
in this life living to feel making it up as i grow along the way


there is a way there is a key there is a door after all there is a way

sometimes i leave the orbits i keep
and find myself washed up in a car park too far
with my holocaustic breath like a little taste of death
but i know breathing suits me best
down here on earth
