Every morning, every night, every afternoon of my life
I've seen them
Scuttling along the tracks
Between passing metal behemoths
They always look so carefree
They don't have anything on their mind
They don′t care what Bill de Blasio is doing
Whether he′s giving enough snow days
So one day, on my way to work on the four-five
I just decided to hop into the tracks
I disrobed, I was nude, I was one of them
I was among the rats! I didn't care if my kid got a B in school
I didn′t care if de Blasio give a snow day
I didn't care who died, who jumped into the tracks
Who made me late for work on Tuesday
Because I was one of my-
I could feel my scaly tale protruding from my back!
I could feel the fur slowly growing out of my pores
And for the first time in my entire life, I felt free
I had not escaped the rat race, I was the rat
I was racing
And so was my heart
For the first time in my life, I had finally felt like myself
