It breaks my heart to see the woe
My little one must undergo
To fume and fuss, and whine and weep
I′d simply lay him down to sleep


She's gone, the angel of repose
Utilize every tactic that she knows
Fighting ′til the bitter end
Until, at last, sweet sleep descends

Throughout the house of faded smoke
The soul finds rest in God alone
Grant he good sleep to those he lays
Yet slumbers not, nor sleeps above
