I walked through city showers
For most of Friday′s hours
Searching shopping galleries in vain
For daisies in the rain

Daisies in the rain
For the lord has taken my baby away


I stood outside her house in the cold
I waited about an hour or so
I thought I'd get to see her once again
But all I got was soaked
For that bird has flown
Flown so far away from me

Riddles in the peddles she must have got
Told her that she′s going to love me not
They said she's gone to hold the hand
Hold the hand of a better man

So now I walk through showers
I cry away the hours
Searching shopping galleries in vain
For daisies in the rain
Daisies for her grave
For the lord has taken my baby away
