There comes a time in life, you realise
You′ve taken it all on trust
And all those years of lies and compromise
Have turned your dreams into dust
So face to face with your mortality
You let the bullets fly
A chance to shoot down your reality
And start to question why

This is the time and the season
To seek out the systems of change
Don't waste your life getting even
Or picking at twisted remains
If you can take it or leave it
You′ve got to move out to move on
This is the time and the season
To know when the moment has gone


Do you know who you are?
You've come this far
As just a face in the crowd
And just forced to hide your light way out of sight
Afraid to speak out loud
If you just toe the line, you'll do just fine
Until they cut you down
You′d better hope and pray it′s not too late
To turn your life around

When others cloud your vision
You've got to take control
Accept a higher mission
And live it heart and soul

Can′t exist on former glories
Reputations fade so fast
Time to tell a different story
Make it good and make it last

Sad to say, the golden summers of yesterday
Seem a lifetime ago
Gone with friends we left
Forever at childhood's end
With secrets only we know

Now we face the cruellest winter
The darkest age
What chance survival?
No choice but to feed on scraps
From a gilded cage
Our bitter rivals have thrown


You and me, forced together or so it seems
We grew in separate ways

Some way back we lost the meaning
Of what we had
We left the pathway
Too late to paper over the deepest cracks
We reach into the unknown

There is one world
And it feeds no other earth
Heaven just a broken promise
A ghost of what we′re worth
And in one world
We've the power to make it right
Cut the ties with sacred knowledge
And move into the light

No trust in politicians
Or gods to help us through
Instead a recognition - it′s all in you

Stands alone in time and space
Older than the distant stars
Outlives the human race
There is one world
And we can't go round again
Here for but the briefest candle
Allowed to mortal men

Don't wait to take your chances
Go out and seize the day
When inspiration dances
And takes your breath away
