Mother Made Me Do It Songtext

Mother Made Me Do It Songtext
I feel like Dostoyevsky
Cause I've been working all my life
And never seen light
Or maybe Joseph Conrad
I feel the darkness wrap around
Till it's so like underground
And the library walls
In this house of obscene calls
"It's alive!"
I have a literary side
It only comes out at night
And if you get to close I'll bite
With every line I write the curse
Poetry and
When the madman enters left
I am a caveman on the hunt
From the back the side the front
It takes me inside
Father made me do it
Brother made me do it
The system made me do it
And I'll do it again!
I was raised a Christian boy
They sent me to a public school
They sat me in the back row
It was a marvelous disguise
I was just one of the guys
And we would smoke out in the parking lot
Back there I learned a lot
Hit me with your best shot
And when I think of all that now
Those days seem quite a blur
It's as if I never were
Like I've always been this age
Always waiting on the next page
Always praying for my big break
I feel like William Blake
Staring at the sun
Blinded by fiction
Father made me do it
Brother made me do it
The system made me do it
And I'll do it again!
Here come the kamikaze's
Open the windows wide
We're going on a ride
And we'll linger on the past
Though the future's within grasp
We're stuck here in the now
And it soon becomes the then
And this is where we begin
The end
The end
The end
The end
Cause I've been working all my life
And never seen light
Or maybe Joseph Conrad
I feel the darkness wrap around
Till it's so like underground
And the library walls
In this house of obscene calls
