The first snow has fallen
The temperature is rising

I pack my belongings and book the train ticket
And I ask in the mirror "will I be back again?"
The first time we met was a long time ago
You told me to trust you, and I did
But I was too young and I left you alone
I moved to the city, I found a new life there
I travelled and travelled and travelled again
But deep in my heart you were never forgotten


The warmth from your body
The prints from your hand
I guess I thought it was all lost
I heard you found a new friend
But I gained new hope in your words
"Can I see you again?"
I try to think of the right words to say
As the train leads me closer to the place I want to stay
The present is clear, and the past is forgotten
As you hold me and kiss me and hold me again
And I whisper through tears, "will you ever forgive me"
In your smile I can read I am more than a friend
