it′s increasingly hard to care
about every opinion everywhere
with all of the noise that floats in the air
it's worryingly hard to care

and everyone′s talking about change
but mostly we just want to rearrange
the things that we know that
we don't really need
we're trading in glass and beads


but never too late to begin
come what may
just try to forget
that at the end of the day
everything goes away
so there

and everyone′s hoping for change
with life as a kind of practice range
and friends in low places
are not hard to find
just look inside your mind

it′s decidedly hard to share
without giving in to the gnawing fear
the heart is a magnet
attracting our sin
and that's where it all begins
