Why I’m Calling Songtext

Why I’m Calling Songtext

Dishwasher broke today
But that ain′t the only thing broken
Bed ain't made, there′s bills to pay
And I'm fightin' with my husband
I know you′ll let me complain
And listen with no judgment
And I′ll feel better talkin' ′bout the weather
And family down in Houston

But you don't even know
That I picked up phone

To hear those wind chimes on the porch
Singin′ with a whippoorwill
Your cedar swing and sippin' your
Second cup of chamomile
To feel you smilin′ through the line
And all the while, we're talkin'
Might have a thirty-minute drive
But that ain′t why I′m callin'

By the time I get to where I′m goin'
It′ll feel like I was
Sittin' next to you in a wicker chair
While I was here and you were there
It′s like I went back home
Just pickin' up the phone

To hear those wind chimes on the porch
Singin' with a whippoorwill
Your cedar swing and sippin′ your
Second cup of chamomile
To feel you smilin′ through the line
Well, all the while, we're talkin′
Might have a thirty-minute drive
But that ain't why I′m callin'

Ooh, I′m callin'

To hear someone who knows me so well
I don't have to explain myself
To talk about everything
It means everything

To hear those wind chimes on the porch
Singin′ with a whippoorwill
Your cedar swing and sippin′ your
Second cup of chamomile
To feel you smilin' through the line
Well, all the while, we′re talkin'
Might have a thirty-minute drive
But that ain′t why
I had to hear your voice and I
Hope you don't mind I′m just callin'

Ooh, I'm callin′
I′m callin'
