It′s coming on Christmas
We're putting up the trees
Stringing lights and mistletoe
For all the world to see
Deck the halls and jingle bells playing on the radio
But there′s a sense of purpose missing everywhere we go
Seems all the love that comes with Christmas
Is somehow dead and gone
We've put an x where Christ began
What could be more wrong?
I can't help but wonder as someone who still believes

What does Christmas mean
Santa and his reindeer
Frosty and his friends
Will pay us season′s greetings
Until their bitter end
But rarely do we hear of a star that shines so bright
Above that tiny manger on that holy night Seems all the love that comes with Christmas
Is somehow dead and gone

He was born unto this world to teach us mercy, faith, and love
I pray he will forgive us for the fools we′ve become
