Harbour Songtext

Harbour Songtext

Sometimes I′m the harbour and you you are the sea
United by the water that flows through you and me
The motion of the water is quiet it is calm
But there's an undertow that pulls me in into your storm

Sometimes you′re the harbour and then I am the sea
Divided by breakwaters shielding you from me
We're the same deep water; so clear yet so dark
With a tendency to drift apart when we embark

Sometimes you are the ocean when I'm adrift at sea
The waves′ ebb and flow is all but carrying me

The current leads me further into the great unknown
But there′s comfort in the cadency the ocean shows

Sometimes I am the ocean and then you are the ship
Setting out to sea on your maiden-trip
The water brings a stillness the calm you've known before
You know what is out there, it′s the calm before the storm

There's a fleet of good intentions at the bottom of the sea
The waves may try to hide it but it′s still too clear to see

God knows I tried to be better to sail a different course
But the current was much stronger forcing me without remorse
