I was farming fields when suddenly
There′s an almighty roar above me
I ran through a trail of thick black smoke
To reveal a burning plane

A Messerschmitt 109
Had been shot down by a Hurricane
The pilot had escaped the flames
Hiding out in a nearby barn, I enter

There's just a man who stands in front of me
Frightened, wounded acting nervously
He′s just a man, he's like you and me
Made of flesh and blood

The airman was quite distinguished
He spoke a little English
Holding up his arms above his head
He then whispered
We are just like each other
So please don't fear me brother
These uniforms of war divide us all
