On the road to Jericho
Travelling from everywhere
Walking on the rocky road
Heavy burdens they have to bear
The lepers travel all alone
The devil cuts them to the bone
They can′t find a helping hand
From anybody walking through the land

The blind man is in the dark
Like a lover with a broken heart
And the thief has got a price to pay
When he finally gets to judgement day
Crippled man's strength is gone
So he lays down there to die
The Samaritan came along
Just to help him keep him travelling on


On the road to Jericho (Jericho)
Jesus is a-waiting there
No road too rough or long
No burden is too heavy to bear
On the road to Jericho
He′s there just to show the way
Through the shadows of the night
Right to the light of day

Lazarus' family weeps
With his body out in the street
There's a miracle in the air
And suddenly the Master′s there
He raises Lazarus up
As He speaks in a voice so clear
"Get up, Lazarus, walk
Don′t you know that your saviour is here?"

Lazarus looked around
And he saw all the crying eyes
He said, "What is that sound?
Was it Jesus that saved my life?"
Jesus took him by the hand
He said "Go and live your life
And help your brothers with their heavy load
I will meet you on the Jericho road."
