Never Did Songtext

Never did I ever think that I would be a part of this
Its something that I thought just wasn′t me
From when we used to take each words on their faith
And always used to stray not want to stay
So every time you think that you can read yourself
Just turn to those around and that surround you
If not for their own then your own sake

First impressions of the day
What has the rising sun got to say?
Will everything or nothing go your way?
I've been by the bay
Thinking about the tide of time and how the mind decides
What to cling on to and what to lose
Put your best foot first
Breach The Crossing and quench your thirst
Every time I Look in the mist
Never Did I ever envision this
And sometimes I can′t breathe when all that surrounds me
Is pulsing like a beautiful heart

Try to focus on my verse
Wish I cut my nails first
Crawling out from my stone I'm discovering earth
In search of peace, I meet a big king
Stale, pale, order to suffering
Now I'm sitting buffering
So leave me to wonder in
Revelling everything
For never I′m wondering
What it is, check what I′m gonna do
These purple knees I bruise like a peach
Yeah, hands are always smelling of bleach
I'm not putting plasters on a cut that won′t heal
I'm getting sticky with infection til my plasters peel
Id rather sever limbs, and cauterise em with an iron
Then at least I′d have a couple stumps left to rely on
So many positives are keeping me creative
I'm aware the influence is ever understated
Too much of a good thing It hurts us when we′re idle
Focused on the archetype forgot to read the bible

Never did I ever think that I would be a part of this
Its something that I thought just wasn't me
From when we used to take each words on their faith
And always used to stray not want to stay
So every time you think that you can read yourself
Just turn to those around and that surround you
If not for their own then your own sake

See my heart sings pulled along by harp strings
All alone at night swings and roundabouts of doubt bring
Nothing that I can't fight, win, now
So here I laid my plans, played my hand, up stakes bet the land
Crammed into a complex not built to sleep we contest
The place to reach the peaks of mountain tops it′s
A lot sits, somewhere high up marked with a cross
An island lost to most is where we build the boats
For when the flood hits
A drum kit, The Bass Amp, The brass
Every chance we raise a glass for those passed
You see I never did think that I would get to last
But I am, here we are

Never did I ever think that I would be a part of this
Its something that I thought just wasn′t me
From when we used to take each words on their faith
And always used to stray not want to stay
So every time you think that you can read yourself
Just turn to those around and that surround you
If not for their own then your own sake

Never did I ever think that I would be a part of this
Its something that I thought just wasn't me
From when we used to take each words on their faith
And always used to stray not want to stay
So every time you think that you can read yourself
Just turn to those around and that surround you
If not for their own then your own sake
