Bringing a light and a smile and hi fi poetry into my life
Take a dream of a scene in an ex-life, wasted away in my mind
Déjà-vu on a late night special news, chasing me into the night
All is black like a cat after sunset, moon shining out of its eye

Make a stand by
Drop a dead end straight into a mainstream
Pay a day′s rent just for one night


Well I stare at a girl in a main square carving her into my eye
Go as far as a ride in a racecar, chasing away in the night
Cut a bloom off a big fat yellow moon, hanging alone in the sky
Got high on a song and hi fi poetry out of my mind

Make a fine stand by a bad dream
Found a brand new state of mind
Drop a dead end straight into a mainstream
Pay a day's rent just for one night
