Cassidy Jane Songtext
von Kimberly M'Carver

Cassidy Jane Songtext

Long ago she came to be
Right before the century turned
Took her first deep breath of life
With a winter storm

And she grew to be the family′s pride
With chestnut curls and
Clear grey eyes that told
Of a dream she had that
Sparkled just like gold

She wanted to be of high society
A woman of great fame
Like the ones she saw
That stood so proud and tall
And wore their husband's name

And she learned it hard
Right from the start
The quickest way to a man′s heart
Was wrong
Cause she gave them all
Then she was all alone

But there was a man named Samuel John
Who promised her the life
For which she longed
But he left her just as quickly as the dawn

The finest silk, the bluest pearls
She had them just the same
And for two silvers and a dime
She'll show you a time
And you can call her Cassidy Jane

Hmmm, hmmm

The wedding gown that she had saved
Had lost its fit and now begun to fade
Like the perfume on the sheets
Where she once laid

Coffee creamed and woolen shawls
Now take the place of
Midnight brawls and wine
A woman now as famous as her time

She wanted to be of high society
A woman of great fame
Like the ones she saw
That stood so proud and tall
And wore their husband's name

The finest silk, the bluest pearls
She had them just the same
And for two silvers and a dime
She′ll show you a time
And you can call her Cassidy Jane
Just call her Cassidy Jane

For two silvers and a dime
She′ll show you a time
And you can call her Cassidy Jane
Just call her Cassidy Jane
