On Your Way to Heaven Songtext
von Kenny Edwards

On Your Way to Heaven Songtext

Well sometimes it′s bad, but don't make it worse.
You′re pouring on the salt, but you're dying of thirst.
The world tried to hurt you, but you got there first,
Thinking up all of your schemes.

Well I understand it, it's something I know.
I take wilderness with me wherever I go.
Think I′m climbing mountains, but I′m just digging holes,
Dreaming my underground dreams.

But if you fall on your way to heaven
You can reach down, and I'll give you my hand.
If you fall on your way to heaven,
I′ll stick around and we'll do what we can,
On our way to heaven.

It′s like having it all, but it's never enough.
You fill up your senses, but you still feel that lust.
You drink the whole ocean, and only taste dust.
Never a moment′s release.

Well don't get me wrong, I got nothing to say.
It took me a whole lifetime to get nowhere this way.
By the time I was dancing, the music had faded,
Finally, a moment of peace.

But if you fall on your way to heaven
You can reach down, and I'll give you my hand.
If you fall on your way to heaven,
I′ll stick around and we′ll do what we can,
On our way to heaven.

Well sometimes it's bad, but don′t make it worse.
You've got years of oblivion carefully nursed.
A high definition, tragedy cursed,
But here′s something you can believe.

But if you fall on your way to heaven
You can reach down, and I'll give you my hand.
If you fall on your way to heaven,
I′ll stick around and we'll do what we can,
On our way to heaven.
