Magnifying stain′d glass
Of peacock patterns on the withered grass
The frozen ground without a sound
Subdues the seed of buried flowers round
Embroidered on a tattered veil
Snowflake patterns
Conceal a tearful trail

Adieu color, adieu
What remnants now remain, what hue
Some little shards
Too far, too few
Cannot retard the blinding flame you threw
The prison of the stainless dew
The desecrated dame you knew


Peering through the lattice lace
As empty green bottles pure curving grace
Awaits the light of day to fill its space
And stain the emerald shadow of a spilling vase
Cloistered in a holy jail
A grail of alabaster holds sediment of laughter
For hereafter and beyond, and then we're gone
Without a trace

Adieu color, adieu

Too far, too few

Saunter through a forest glade
The snow-white shade is full of hidden blades
To call a spade a spade a spade a spade
And raise above our head a stroke to waken all the dead
As spokes of icicles fall glitt′ring all around
They penetrate the piney mound
They crystally cascade
