Buzzing Flies Songtext

Buzzing Flies Songtext
There′s a man pacing the beach
On the far side of the bay
I can hear him in the distance
Keeping me awake
He was filled with poison thoughts
Bewildered and betrayed
There were tracks in the sand
Where his plans were waylaid
I'm not sure if he can see
With the earth already curving
And the sun glare in his eyes
The only thing that didn′t desert him
Heading east into the dawn
I can see him clear from afar
And I suppose there's a chance
That he can see me, too
The last act will play out before my eyes
The villain escapes and the idiot dies
There's justice in heaven
But out here it′s just buzzing flies
It′s a sleepy town
On the mountain's edge in Maine
Where the old money is hiding
In vacant houses along the Bay
We′d gone there together
In black hats in the night
But there's no honor among us
No wrong and no right
That water is so cold
And as deep as it is wide
The waves ebb and swell
At the edge of the horizon line
And I can hear an echoed voice
But there′s no form now to the words
And it's curtains for him anyway
I can hear dogs bark in the woods
The last act will play out before my eyes
The villain escapes and the idiot dies
There′s justice in heaven
But out here it's just buzzing flies
You can weave a web
And catch the things that you chase
But if you're caught up in trouble
Just remember my face
The boat was big enough for two
She was built for some freight
But I needed his half, too
For the plans that I′d made
Just for a moment
I had second thoughts
I considered great fortunes
And all the grief that they′ve bought
But the moment, it did pass
As I was dividing by one
On a plane from Halifax
To an island in the sun
The last act will play out before my eyes
The villain escapes and the idiot dies
There's justice in heaven
But out here it′s just buzzing flies
On the far side of the bay
I can hear him in the distance
Keeping me awake
He was filled with poison thoughts
Bewildered and betrayed
There were tracks in the sand
