I played here for the first time ten years ago And I played with Roy′s quintet on this very stage
My first time playing in the band with Roy
My first time playing at the Village Vanguard
And we gon' play a song that I actually learnt from him in Seattle
On the way to a recording session

And we learned this song, mm, seconds before performing it
And it's entitled Soulful
