Family is something that some of us are lucky enough to experience
For me, I came from a small one
An only child with parents that separated when I was six
So I split my time with my mom and dad growing up

Some of my best memories were the car rides I got to have with my dad
Since I lived an hour away
We would put on our favorite albums and just be in the moment
On January 12, 2021, I lost my father to pancreatic cancer

And it was rough

I struggled with letting him go
And pushing people away that meant the most to me
I took everything for granted
I saw my dad as a superhero that would be around forever

No matter what


I started this project a couple of months after he passed away
And it′s been finished for a while but
I didn't know if I was ready
Or if it was even appropriate to share these feelings with the world

But then I think back to the car rides

And how the albums we listened to helped us through so much
I know he would want our story to help somebody if it could
To show you′re not alone
And that we are all one big family

So this is a reminder that nothing is forever

Lead with love
Follow your heart
And, most of all, believe in yourself

We're all doing the best with what we have

This is family
