I′ve always been a generous man
I'd give you the shirt off my back
I′d loan you my toolbox and my good fishin' pole
I'd give you a ride in my old Cadillac
But there′s only so far my patience will go
There′s only so much I can stand
Of these lazy free loaders and soft tippy-toers
Wantin' something just to fall in their hands

But lately they′re wantin' more than I′m givin'

Kept a forest from gettin′ chopped down
So I think it′s funny how when I need somebody
There's never nobody around
