At times I would sacrifice all that I own
Just for a whiff of that Rhodie cologne

It′s the smell of the first rain and strong citronella
And musky potato- bush hanging at night
The match on tobacco, the old timer lights
As he cups his old sun- battered hands round his pipe
The aroma of dung of cattle and hogs
Matabele ants, leather and horses and dogs
It's the short diesel puff that the old tractor burps
And it′s with mixed with the smell of wet earth as it works

It's bicycle tyres and blankets and candles
And meal and kapenta and red Lifebuoy soap
And garlic and curry that hangs on the breath
Of the trader who's shop is unique and remote,
Its the sour smell of sweat, all mixed up with beer,
That oozes from workers whenever they′re near.
On hangover Mondays when heads feel so bad and
They speak without words of the binges they had

It′s bushfire smoke at the side of the road as

It's the fumes of the smoke from a mosquito coil,
And camp coffee fragrants mixed up with gun oil
And the smell of the mud when the river is down
And rotting Marulas that lie on the ground
