Kunkuru Eagles Songtext
von John Edmond

Kunkuru Eagles Songtext

Throughout the world there have been girls who sailed across the skies
They say its a place reserved in space exclusively for guys.
Some gals soloed the Atlantic, Some sailed around the world
And some became Kunkuru eagles, those aviation girls.
At 24 53 South and 27 49 East
Lies Kunkuru strip in the African bush that pilots call a beast.
That strip runs into a mountain and you land upon 35
Then they make you a Kunkuru Eagle if the landing was survived.
So what do I have to do girl to be a Kunkuru eagle?
Tell me what I have to prove.
What do I have to be girl to be a Kunkuru Eagle?
Tell me what I have to do.
This pretty tender lady, she looks into my face,

She says, "Make the downwind longer before you′re turning base,
There's wind shear on the threshold and a dust devil or two,
Ant bear holes and eland, giraffe and kudu.
Just put a programme in your mind of what action you′ll take
And if you have to go around, don't decide too late.
Just gather up your courage and put your pride away;
Remember what they taught you and you will be OK".
What do I have to be girl to be a Kunkuru eagle?
I'm begging on my knee girl I′ll even buy you a Chivas Regal.
So what do I have to do girl to be a Kunkuru eagle?
Tell me what I have to prove.
What do I have to be girl to be a Kunkuru Eagle?
Tell me what I have to do.
