Inja the Dog Songtext

Inja the Dog Songtext

There are hunting dogs there′s a bat eared fox
A jackal with stripes and a hyena with spots
But down through the ages they can do what they can
But only Inja the dog can be a friend of man
A primeval man on a cold cold night
Cooking by his cave in the firelight
And the family of dogs of the wilderness
Said may we share your food and fire and your friendliness
First there came the hunting dogs
Creeping up to the glowing logs
The man said i can't share my stew
Because there are too many of you
There are hunting dogs there′s a bat eared fox
A jackal with stripes and a hyena with spots
But down through the ages they can do what they can
But only Inja the dog can be a friend of man
Then there came the bat-eared fox
Frightening the man's poor flocks
Man said friends we'll never be
Because of all your treachery

Then there came the sly jackal
With his eerie sounding call
Man said I don′t like your noise
Leave my fire you have no choice
There are hunting dogs there′s a bat eared fox
A jackal with stripes and a hyena with spots
But down through the ages they can do what they can
But only Inja the dog can be a friend of man
Then there came the Hyena
Man could smell him from afar
Man said you're a scavenger
And I don"t like your aroma
Then finally came Inja the dog
From the misty forest fog′
Brave and faithful to the end
Man said you are my best friend
But down through the ages they can do what they can
But only Inja the dog can be a friend of man
There are hunting dogs there's a bat eared fox
A jackal with stripes and a hyena with spots
But down through the ages they can do what they can
But only Inja the dog can be a friend of man
