Reg's Piano Songtext
von Jimmy Barnes
Reg's Piano Songtext
So, Reg Barnes had a piano
And he brought it from his mum′s house, to our place
And it was great, there was ah, you know, suddenly there was music in the house again, so it was good
And I got the feeling that um, when Reg played
It sorta took him back to when he used to live with his, with his parents, you know
Before he met my mum, he was a devout bachelor, he didn't have a care in the world
And then next thing he′s married to, to a, crazy Scotswoman
And he's got six juvenile delinquent kids
So um, he'd sit and play the piano and I could see in his eyes, he′d be drifting
He used to play this piece, Fur Elise
And I could see him drifting back to Port Adelaide
And then my mum would yell out "Hey Reg"
And it was like a knife, and it would, it could cut through the music, right
So ah, Mum would have something for Reg to do
She always had something else for Reg to do
And he brought it from his mum′s house, to our place
And it was great, there was ah, you know, suddenly there was music in the house again, so it was good
And I got the feeling that um, when Reg played
It sorta took him back to when he used to live with his, with his parents, you know
Before he met my mum, he was a devout bachelor, he didn't have a care in the world
