Suddenly it′s dark, in your world that's full of parts
Of a rainbow shattered into bits of glass
I hear you say hello, from a face that doesn′t smile
Or at least it hasn't for a while, since you begun to grow

Before then it was so effortless
You couldn't feel the shadows of the trophies that you′re chasing
Not weighed down by people and their heavy expectations
I can′t wait for when you see the light that shines
And when you realise, it's been coming from your chest the whole time


You′re crying for advice, with a closed mouth scream that no one hears
And a cheek stained with invisible tears
But you're not to blame, you were born in a field of flowers
Where the tall ones were taken out and told to shrink themselves down

And I believe you′ll show them all (I believe you'll show them all)
That it′s okay to grow when all the signs are saying not to
That it's alright to leave what others have and say you've got to
