Birds, Animals, Insects Songtext

Birds, Animals, Insects Songtext
The whir, the hum, feathers beat a drum
In upward flight, vibrating
Lochanside, grubbing
To the air, fleeing
The call, the cry, on the plateau high
A distant ear awakens
Eyes bright, watching
Dusky form, stalking
Bright sun, and day, asleep in heather laid
Dusty wings, shifting
Moon watcher, flutter
Silver night, drifter
The flash of white, a cheerful summer sight
On rock and boulder, calling
Voyager, passing
Leaving with the gloaming
The song, the crest, a hidden mossy nest
In ancient pines, singing
Tree to tree, flitting
Chattering and seeking
The strength, the roar, from the mountains core
In herds of hooves, descending
In the autumn, fighting
To the valleys, echo
The quickening pace, a short and rapid race
In winters white, forsaken
Hunkered down, waiting
Open ground, running
The croak, the crack, the ke-a calling back
In snow white flocks, together
Colour changing, feathers
Betrayed by warming weather
In upward flight, vibrating
Lochanside, grubbing
To the air, fleeing
The call, the cry, on the plateau high
A distant ear awakens
Eyes bright, watching
Dusky form, stalking
Bright sun, and day, asleep in heather laid
Dusty wings, shifting
Moon watcher, flutter
Silver night, drifter
The flash of white, a cheerful summer sight
On rock and boulder, calling
Voyager, passing
Leaving with the gloaming
The song, the crest, a hidden mossy nest
In ancient pines, singing
Tree to tree, flitting
Chattering and seeking
The strength, the roar, from the mountains core
In herds of hooves, descending
In the autumn, fighting
To the valleys, echo
The quickening pace, a short and rapid race
In winters white, forsaken
Hunkered down, waiting
Open ground, running
The croak, the crack, the ke-a calling back
In snow white flocks, together
Colour changing, feathers
Betrayed by warming weather
