It′s 2:15, and the man he sits alone
Everyone's gone, but he don′t wanna go home
He sits and he stares at the mysteries in his beer
'Cause he don't like the answers when he′s sober and it′s clear

He gazes on with his back against the wall
The bartender stands with his hands upon his hips
Got his eyes on the clock, and he curses on his lips
The man don't care ′cause he's been this way before
And he needs a little more, so he picks up his hand and says

It′s 2:25, and the man is still a stone
His slumps on his barstool like an old king on his throne
He preaches salvation, but a savior never comes
So he turns to his bottle and drinks until he′s done
His mind's on fire, he′s chilled down to the bone
This is all he's ever known, so he picks up his hand and says
