Digging in the Dust Songtext

Digging in the Dust Songtext

I was granted my reprieve
Didn′t get much time to grieve
I just set out on my way and didn't turn around
When she finally changed her mind
I was too far down the line
There′s a point of no return that keeps you on the ground
There's a lonely rain that falls
Over me now Wish I could wash away it all
I've been digging in the dust Trying to raise the dead
But it′s all grown cold
I′m throwing water on rust Trying to stop from drowning
While I'm tied to a stone
When you′re running from yourself
It's a special kind of hell

You just take it day by day convinced you′re never wrong
In the eye of your own storm
You're an island on your own
Pull the mask down on your face and just pretend you′re strong
I've been digging in the dust Trying to raise the dead
But it's all grown cold
I′m throwing water on rust Trying to stop from drowning
While I′m tied to a stone
There's a feeling I can′t shake
Under my bones Growing more painful every day
I've been digging in the dust Trying to raise the dead
But it′s all grown cold
I'm throwing water on rust Trying to stop from drowning
While I′m tied to a stone
