I need to go home by the way of the cross
There is no other way than this way
I shall never get sight of the gates of light
If the way of the cross I miss Help me not to miss

It is sweet to know as I onward go

On the path that the Savior trod
For my Lord says "Come" And I fall at His feet
Because my soul is at home with God where I long to be
So I bid farewell to the way of the world

And I see His face where He waits at the open door the open door
