Dig back a million years or more
Before we lived in Idaho
And catch the rivers overflowing
No gods to quake or terrorize
No tragic fate in young man′s eyes
No righteous armies massed with trumpets blowing

So you want to move up through te years
To where the iceman disappears
And imagination soars beyond all borders
And frees the hand to shape the plow
Squeeze the trugger, wipe the brow
Of the bombardier who chose to follow orders

The carrousel turns, we go round and round
Till the spokes are all gone
And the wheel comes unwound

Standing in the wake of a future we've made

Now we move in quantum leaps
The microchip that never sleeps
A technovision growing even colder
But the trees are cut, the roots are lost
We forge ahead despite the cost

Now we′re living with a constant fear
Of knowing in a hundred years
