I remember seventeen
Lazy days in July heat
Momma sayin′: "Are you gonna sleep all summer long?"
August came and August went, I was
Gettin' books for school again
That′s the time that she moved in
Three doors down

From then on I was captured by
A little blond with hazel eyes

When she climbed in my window one night

When I think about my first truck
I pro′bly never really drove it that much

With her in my arms

The first I heard about Santa Fe
