Love's Got a Ghetto Songtext

Love's Got a Ghetto Songtext

In some suburb of your heart
Where lawns are manicured
The safety of my memorys assured
But theres an over crowded part
Where old resentments are
And multiplied by exponential love
But Loves got a ghetto and it wouldnt be wise
To walk all alone in the dark there
Loves got a ghetto and I wouldnt advise
You park there
On some brilliant boulevard where all is gentrified
You stroll with some young suitor by your side
But how long can you disregard
The shady side of town
When all your oversights have fallen down?

Why do you want to go there?
Your jealous lover sighs
Who could you possible know there?
Your racist mother cries
You say youll be fine alone
But once, dear, you were mine alone
And I know otherwise
Loves got a ghetto and it wouldnt be wise
To walk all alone in the dark there
Loves got a ghetto and I strongly advise that you
Clip on the glove when you park there
Loves got a ghetto that the businesses shun
The dealer replaces the grocer
Loves got a ghetto and Im traveling one block closer
One block closer
