Find Rest (commentary) Songtext
Find Rest
Umm, I will never forget this day
I wrote this with my preacher, Ian Eskelin
And Jareld Anderson, who′s a worship leader
And someone I was fan of for years
And Ian said hey, I think you'd really get along with Jareld
He′s in town, let's write a song together
So we got into the studio and
He's kinda really quiet and
I was like, I don′t know how this is gonna go
And he′s like, well, I've got this idea
Let me just play it for you guys, see what you think
And he started playing the chorus
Find rest, my soul
And Ian and I looked at each other like
Can we please write that song?
Because it was so beautiful and just like, I don′t know
Those are the type of songs that I gravitate towards
Those emotional, intimate worship songs
And so the chance to sort of write this song with him
It was really cool for me
And I think it's a really different sound for me
And kind of even different for the record
Umm, but it′s one of my favourites
And, you know, I hope that when people listen to it
They find that place of rest with God
It's just a very personal, very just, "I need You" kind of song
So I hope it just means a lot to people
Umm, I will never forget this day
I wrote this with my preacher, Ian Eskelin
And Jareld Anderson, who′s a worship leader
And someone I was fan of for years
And Ian said hey, I think you'd really get along with Jareld
