The Eagle's Mouth Songtext

The Eagle's Mouth Songtext

From the inside I′ll crawl my way out, out
To get away from this stormy shroud
The frozen highway, the blistering winds howl the tune
A furrowed campsite will have to do

In far away lands, the bombs they rain down, down
And villages burn with shrieking sound
Well I won't drop them, no, I won′t play the part and so I start
To burn the letter that eats at my heart

And if we fall into the night
She'll whisper all away
But if we follow through the night
We'll not be lead astray

We′ll be there soon

We travel far by foot, by train
And winter′s already on it's way
But I won′t stumble here, I will press on
Until I freeze or reach the dawn
Of a new life where I've become
Another ghost in Saskatchewan
I never say my name I speak to no one
I walk alone, hand on my gun

And if we fall into the night
She′ll whisper all away
But if we follow through the night
We'll not be lead astray

O, de lay

So from the inside I claw my way out, out
To get away from the Eagle′s mouth
And when they come for me they come for my blood, flesh and blood
But these free hands will shed no one's

I'll be there soon
