Mood Cells Songtext

Mood Cells Songtext

We never had friends call round our house
For a cup o′ char or a chat
Or even a grill-steak, chips and a dandelion and burdock Corona in tumblers
Like other families
Their friends
Not mine

Or if we did, they wouldn't last a second visit because Mum′s mood cells hurt
And Dad would look at Mum as if to psychically extract
You have a wonky nose
Their egos refused entry, yet the truth was spoken
So who was the one with the problem?

My thirteen year old friends
Were kept at a distance
Due to my choreographed
Avoidance
Of
Onteraction
With mood cells
It wasn't teen cool to encounter
Mood cells in our house
Mood cells seeped into every scenario
Mood cells bounced on a swing
Reaching higher and higher off the ground
Like a bird
Much higher and higher
Than last time
Stretching out legs
Knees bend
Rah rah rah
In
And out
In
Out
Shake it
Hair in front of face
Behind face
In front of face
Behind
Falling, grazing
Knees and elbows
Plasters fail to stick
Tears soak in soil

We never had friends call round our house
Their friends
Not mine
