Leaves Songtext

The trees are making their stand
The ground is full with their woe
I′ve been tapping this floor
With a rhythm I don't know

Halfway through the sky
The light wants to retire
I′ve been watching its glow
Since the morning found its flow

If we leave the city now
We can find new winters too
If we leave the city now
The trees will have no name
The trees will have no name
To be called by

The postman's doing his round
The doorbell rings, a high-pitched note
So I run down the stairs
Receive the answers I don't know

The lock is loose and it′s old
The air is wrapped up in its coat
I′ve been watching its clouds
Since they gathered so low

If we leave the city now
We can find other winters too
If we leave the city now
The trees will have no name
The trees will have no name
To be called by

The postman hands over hopes
The leaves don't care if they fall
I′ve been watching them leave
From the arms of the sky

The postman smiles and then goes
Someone tried to look inside
I've been watching the same show
From the wings as it unfolds

If we leave the city now
We can find other winters too
If we leave the city now
The trees will have no name
Trees will have no name
Time will have no name
Days will have no name
To be called by
