As I walk through the Valley of the Shadow Of Death

With a staff and rod to comfort me

A table is prepared for me in front of my enemies
But who are they


Is it death that haunts me
The chance it missed when I was hit
The luck in my cup runneth over

Goodness and Mercy is supposed to follow me
But Death, she too will haunt me forever

A constant reminder of what could have been
And what will come
To evict me from this plane and move me into the house of the lord

And a reminder that when I leave I cannot take belongings with me
And another will too suffer living in this world
